The Global ESCO Network is proud to present the Perspectives 2020 publication with 10 articles from seasoned experts on the subject of ESCOs and energy efficiency and its mainstreaming in Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement. The publication is supported by Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency, which is also behind the establishment of the Global ESCO Network.
Energy efficiency should be the first line of defence against climate change, offering profitable investment options that prevent the waste of energy, the production of which is by far the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. Yet it is significantly underutilized. ESCOs are the companies that can make energy efficiency investments happen on a large scale. They make the potentials tangible. But the road to get there, to allow the ESCO contribute decisively to the emissions reduction effort, is littered with obstacles, many unintended.
Perspectives 2020 shows the way to ensure a thriving energy efficiency business with expert advice and insights from four regions around the globe.
